This hotel is a gem in an ancient, historic, charming, refurbished building with many different types of rooms and values. We looked carefully with booking for bed sizes, room sizes, and locations for our optimal stay. For our first stay, we had a bigger room with two beds toward the front of the building with good access for the restaurant and the charming nativity scene, filtered water, and good WIFI. (The noise level was fine even though busier in the day but quiet at night). As we extended our stay and had a room change, the communication figuring out the type of room was varied since both times it said pool view but neither actually had. The second room in the back was quieter, more stairs to climb and less stable WIFI with the thick 16th century walls, but sufficient to find many cozy seating places throughout the building to relax. Some rooms have more windows and light than others. Pool view was not as stated, but did have an inner courtyard, and we did relax by the pool although too cool for us to swim. In the end both rooms were different but good for different reasons. Overall after we settled in, the front desk staff, cleaning staff, and the restaurant staff were all very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed both stays and the relaxed vibe, good comfort food on site and great nearby walking. No fridge, but we loved the sustainability and that we had filtered hot and cold water provided since we had our own tea and chocolate to mix. We would stay here again with the right room to fit our needs.

the building is really cool and has different places to chill, the pool, roof terrace, tables and chairs dotted around and you can get beers and coffee from the restaurant bar which is great. a lovely woman made me coffee each morning which was a treat. the staff were helpful and friendly but left you to it. it’s a little bit scruffy in places around the pool but it’s part of the charm with an old building. they have a water cooler to fill up bottles which I found so helpful as most places don’t have that and you end up buying lots of plastic. location is perfect!!

The hotel is beautiful and the location could not possibly be better - you're five minutes' walk from the Zocalo, five minutes from Santo Domingo, and about 15 minutes from Xochimilco by foot. Restaurants are everywhere. The downside to being centrally located is the street noise, which is probably an issue everywhere in Centro Oaxaca. If you want quiet, ask for a room in the back of the building - but know that you'll then have no view. The beds were on the hard side, which we appreciated - very comfortable for us.

Old world charm and good reception and porter staff to greet. Rooms are on the small side but perfectly adequate and have everything you need ( iron hairdryer). Some bedrooms are lighter than others.-and quieter. The pool is a plus with a few loungers for relax. some other outdoor seating areas dotted around the hotel. I’m Breakfast was good and easy to order and punctual. All in all with its relation so close to the main square- it’s not a bad option.

Location was great! Hotel was beautiful and staff were great! Pool could use more room and a bit of maintenance. Rooms have no phones, doors are key entry & same for in room safe. No elevator. Guess it’s part of the hotel charm. Dinning area was good and bar staff great. Would recommend hotel location is very good a block from main plaza & cathedral.
